Poetry and Physics

I wanted to be a physicist
Your kisses made me a poet.
before that
I had built two wireless devices
I knew the speed
of your voice's
wavelength,
how they multiplied
in my earset,
the distance
the tone of your voice
could be heard.
I wanted to discover a formula
to gather
your scattered energy
in space
from them
recast your body
with smiles and tears.
In your bosom,
I would measure
the constant of
friction:
skin on skin,
fluid in fluid.
The constant
of earth's gravity
the exact location of
landing
in a centrifugal
motion.
I did not know how
to measure
the frequency of your kisses,
how to divide,
what speed,
and the distance between us.
In your bosom,
I was hurtling into the stars
with the speed of light
and everytime
you became younger.
Now
with all my knowledge
of physics
I can only measure
a black hole's mass
transmuting
every living body
into a silent
energy.
